Egypt’s Minister of Industry and Trade Nevin Gamea decided to extend the anti-dumping measures on Turkish, Chinese, and Ukrainian steel exports to Egypt for one year, according to the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
Egypt has imposed anti-dumping duty on steel bars for construction (concrete steel strands- plain round bars and wire rods) from China, Turkey, and Ukraine in compliance with Ministerial Decision No. 1535 2017.
It’s worth mentioning that the Central Bank of Egypt obliged importers in March to import products in Egypt, including steel, only with letters of credit, to strengthen control over imports and reduce dependence on foreign currency.
