Discover anti-biotic residues in exported shrimps

According to Vietnam Shrimp Committee, in March 2007, Japan has found 3 Vietnamese aquatic product enterprises exporting goods in which contain chloramphenicol and AOZ anti-biotic residues. These two anti-biotic are substances which are prohibited under Japanese law on food hygiene.
Vietnam Seajoco’s shrimps and cuttlefish contain chloramphenicol residue. Frozen fried shrimps of Ut Xi Company include AOZ residue.
Chloramphenicol residue was also found in Agrex Company’s shrimps of its food consignment to Japan.
