China Ministry of Trade announced on August 4th that they have filed 400 enterprises who failed to meet food safety requirements in export activities in their black list. This is a move in response to the alarming fact that many countries have condemned against China- sourced products safety.

According to Mr.Gao Hungcheng Vice Minister of China Ministry of Trade, 429 enterprises have been added in the list, and many of them were strictly punished for their violation.   Particularly, 2 Chinese export giants have been withdrawn their export licenses after their animal food exports of these companies were found to cause death to US cattle.

Mr Hui Lusheng, Directors of China Food and Drug Administration admitted on August 5th that China is facing with a long term and tough mission of improving their food safety problems. Recently, many countries have abandoned China-sourced products after detecting excessive harmful substance in their animal food, toothpaste and even toys “made in China”.

Meanwhile, China also tightened their control over imports and has issued many ban orders on export consignments from US, Indonesia…

According to Mr Hui Lusheng, global cooperation is the sole solution for this challenge as food safety is the common concern of all countries in the world.

On August 4, China signed a cooperation agreement with US on food safety cooperation. They are also making best effort to reach similar agreements with other countries on this alarming issue.
