China Renews Anti-Dumping Duties On Chloroprene Rubber

China will continue to levy anti-dumping duties (AD) on chloroprene rubber exported from Japan, the United States, and the European Union.
China's Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) has completed a periodic review of the AD orders, which have been in place since May 2005. MOFCOM ruled that removing the duties would lead to injury for Chinese industry.
Dumping occurs when good are sold into a foreign market at below the prevailing market rate in the exporter's domestic market. Under the Uruguay Round Agreement, AD orders must be reviewed at least every five years.
China will now continue to levy AD at rates of between 10.2 and 43.9 percent for Japanese exporters, 151 percent for those from the US, and between 11 and 151 percent for exporters from the EU.
Chloroprene rubber has a variety of uses and applications, typically as an insulator and sealant in many manufactured products and components.
