Canada imposes provisional AD on Ukrainian plate

It is reported that the Canada Border Services Agency has made its preliminary determination of the dumping investigation, pursuant to the Special Import Measures Act with respect to certain carbon steel plate and high strength low alloy steel plate originating in or exported from Ukraine.
According to the preliminary determination, provisional duties are payable on the subject product on or after October 5, 2009. The CBSA has estimated the dumping margin and provisional antidumping duty rates for the exporter Azovstal and the Metinvest Group of Companies as 14.7% of the export price. For all other Ukrainian exporters, the provisional rate is determined as 20.2%.
As SteelOrbis reported in early September, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal made an affirmative preliminary determination with regard to the antidumping investigation in question against imports of certain carbon steel plate and high strength low alloy steel plate from Ukraine.
