Brazil Announces New Anti-Dumping Duties On Chinese Imports

Brazil has decided to impose anti-dumping duties on imports of carbon steel pipes and magnesium powder from China, according to a recent statement from the Chamber of Foreign Trade (CAMEX).

Under CAMEX Resolution No. 65, a five-year anti-dumping duty will be imposed on imports of Chinese carbon steel pipes, with rates ranging from USD1,009 to USD1,356.90 per ton. Carbon steel pipe is used in the automotive, agricultural machinery, and construction sectors, among others.

In addition, CAMEX Resolution No. 66 stipulates that a five-year anti-dumping duty will be levied on imports of magnesium powder from China at a rate of USD0.99 per kilogram. Magnesium powder is used in the manufacture of chemicals, fireworks, ammunition, and welding electrodes.
