The Australian Anti-Dumping Commission has announced preliminary results of an administrative review of anti-dumping duties on imports of steel products from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Turkey, and Viet Nam. This was reported by IREPAS.

The investigation covered the period from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024.

The Commission concluded that dumped exports from Malaysia (except Southern Steel Berhad), Thailand, Turkey, and Viet Nam (except Hoa Phat) caused injury to the domestic industry.

Accordingly, the anti-dumping margin, depending on the manufacturer, was set at the following level:

9.2-26.2% for Malaysia,
3.1-6.7% for Thailand,
7.7-36.4% for Turkey,
9.5-17.3% for Viet Nam.

At the same time, the commission noted that Indonesian companies Pt Ispat Panca Putera and Pt Putra Baja Deli did not sell rebar to Australia or exported it with a negligible dumping margin during the period in question.

The products subject to anti-dumping measures are classified under codes 7214.20.00, 7228.30.10, 7228.30.90, and 7228.60.10.

In September, the European Commission imposed definitive anti-dumping duties on imports of certain hot-rolled flat products originating in Egypt, Japan, and Viet Nam. This replaced the previous duties that had been in place. The anti-dumping duties will be 11.7% for Egypt, 6.9%-30% for Japan, and 12.1% for Viet Nam (the current anti-dumping measures do not apply to Viet Nam’s Hoa Phat Group).
