NDO - The Australian Anti-Dumping Commission (ADC) has announced it will end its dumping duties on power transformers imported from Vietnam.

The information released on December 18 by the Vietnam Competition Authority (VCA) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that power transformers were the second Vietnamese product (after galvanised steel) to escape anti-dumping duties in the Australian market.

The investigation into power transformer imports from Vietnam and other countries was launched by the ADC in July 2013. In December 2014, the ADC issued a report on the final results of the investigation and imposed an anti-dumping duty on Vietnamese transformers with a dumping margin of 3.8%.

However, Vietnam's ABB company, a defendant in the lawsuit, filed a petition to the Australia's Anti-Dumping Review Panel (ADRP) to ask for a reconsideration of the decision.

In September 2015, the ADRP published a report reviewing the anti-dumping duties against Vietnamese transformers and recommended the Australian Government Department of Industry cancel the dumping duty decision.

On October 30, 2015, the Government Department of Industry accepted the above recommendation and declared the end of anti-dumping duties on Vietnamese transformers exported to Australia.
