Antidumping Investigations in Brazil

In June and July 2013, the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (SECEX) of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC) initiated three new antidumping investigations in Brazil, as follows:
Circular SECEX N. 28, of June 7, 2013: initiated an antidumping investigation on the imports of tires for cargo vehicles (NCM 4011.20.90) from China, upon request of the National Association of the Tire Industry – ANIP;
Circular SECEX N. 34, of July 8, 2013: initiated an antidumping investigation on the imports of ceramic tiles (NCM 6907.90.00) from South Korea, Thailand, South Africa, Russia, Taiwan and Japan, upon request of the National Association of the Ceramic Tile and Sanitary Ware Producers – ANFACER;
Circular SECEX N. 38, of July 15, 2013: initiated an antidumping investigation on the imports of float glass (NCM 7005.29.00) from China, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, United States and México, upon request of the Brazilian Technical Association of the Automatic Glass Industries – ABIVIDRO.
The anti-dumping investigations are carried out by the Department of Trade Remedies (DECOM) and last approximately twelve months. The anti-dumping investigations may or may not result in the application of a anti-dumping duties, which shall remain in force for five years.
The involvement of exporters and importers is of great importance since the information provided to DECOM has direct influence on the results of these proceedings.
