KOCHI: The third round of annual review on anti-dumping duty on Indian shrimp imports was announced by the US Department of Commerce.

In a notification issued this week, the department has invited applications for review before February 29.

The federal registrar said that interested parties may request for an administrative review of the shrimp anti-dumping duty, not later than the last day of February 2008.

A year after the anti-dumping duty was announced, the findings of the first review reduced the duty from 10.17 to 7.22 per cent. The results of the second review, which commenced in February last year, are still awaited.

According to exporters in India, there is chance for the anti-dumping duty being reduced after the second review.

The mandatory respondents for the second administrative review were Falcon Marine Exports and Baby Food Exports.

The Department would scrutinise the applications, verify their export records for the past year and ascertain whether to modify, reduce or increase the rate of anti-dumping and countervailing duty on that company.
