Anti-dumping duty on nylon tyre cord fabric extended
04/05/2009 12:00
The Central Board of Excise and Customs has in a notification extended the special duty imposed on imports of nylon tyre cord fabrics from China for a period of another five years. This came about after the department initiated an investigation on expiry of the earlier term in September.
The duty had been earlier imposed in 2005 and ranged between US $1.24-1.76 per kg. Along with re-imposing the anti-dumping duty, the department is also conducting a safeguard investigation on imports of the fabric from China.
