After several months of unsuccessful negotiation, America proclaimed to officially bring China to court at WTO in days to come.
"Two rounds of negotiations as suggested by WTO were conducted with constructive attitude from America side but China has not yet solved the subsidization related problem that damages the commercial freedom as WTO spirit” said Sean Spicer, spokesman of USTR on 12th July.
"We prefer peaceful negotiation to lawsuit. But because of not yet receiving the security from China confirming that the subsidization should be immediately revised so we have to pursue the fight for our benefit at WTO” he said.
America started to submit petition to WTO on the subsidization of some sectors such as steel, wooden furniture, paper, IT and other industrial products.
American trade representative, Ms. Susan C.Schwab accused China of applying supportive policies of Government and tax preferential policies to improve their companies’ competitive ability. These policies strongly impacted on the companies of America and other countries.
“China uses basic tax and other instruments to promote import while imported goods are badly treated. Chinese subsidization activities have distorted the business environment of medium and small American enterprises” Susan Schawad said.
America said that the unfair business of China was the major reason to commercial shortfall between China and America. According to analysts, manufacturers of electronics, steel and paper of America will benefit most from this lawsuit.
