The Ministry of Industry and Trade has extended the anti-dumping tax on Chinese cold-rolled steel until December 27, 2030, in order to protect the domestic industry.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just issued a decision on the results of the final review of the application of anti-dumping measures against certain cold-rolled (cold-pressed) steel products originating from China.
The anti-dumping measures have been extended for another 5 years until December 27, 2030 (unless otherwise amended or extended by another Decision of the Ministry of Industry and Trade). The Decision takes effect from December 28, 2025. The anti-dumping duty rates on imported cold-rolled steel range from 4.43% to 25.22%.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade began conducting a final review investigation in December 2024 in accordance with Vietnamese trade defense law. The investigation process was carried out in strict compliance with the Law on Foreign Trade Management, relevant regulations, and the World Trade Organization (WTO) Anti-Dumping Agreement.
The investigating authority determined that there is a possibility that the investigated imported goods will continue or repeat the dumping practices that cause injury to the domestic industry if the anti-dumping measures are terminated.
After the decision takes effect, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will coordinate with relevant agencies to inspect and monitor its implementation, based on import information and the risk of tax evasion provided by customs authorities, as stipulated in Decree 86/2025.
