The General Department of Vietnam Customs (GDVC) has just released the Customs statistical information dissemination timetable for import and export goods in 2021.
According to the GDVC, the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) and ASEAN Statistics Agency (ASEANstats) recommend agencies and organizations producing statistics to develop and notify in advance the statistical information dissemination timetable to the statistical information users.
In December, the GDVC’s leader approved the Customs statistical information dissemination timetable for import and export goods in 2021.
The approval of the Customs statistical information dissemination timetable for import and export goods in 2021 complies withthe Government Decree No. 94/2016/ND-CP dated July 1, 2016detailing and guiding the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Statistics, including specifying the statistical information dissemination; Circular No. 52/2020/TT-BTC dated June 10, 2011 of the Ministry of Finance on announcement and dissemination of statistical information on exported and imported goods, and Government Decree No. 60/2018/ND-CP dated April 20, 2018 stipulating the national statistical reporting regime applicable to ministries and branches.
The Customs statistical information dissemination timetable is built annually in advance and publicized widely to the statistical information users on the GDVC’s Portal (www.customs.gov.vn).
After the first six months of implementing the timetable, Customs will review the performance progress.
In case of amendment or supplementation, Customs will notify promptly to the statistical information users on the GDVC’s Portal.
The revision of preliminary statistics in the first six months of 2021 will be conducted and notified atthe end of September 2021, and the official statistics of the whole of 2021 will be widely disseminated in the end of April 2022.
The statistical information users can base on the Customs statistical information dissemination timetable to actively collect statistics.
Currently, the GDVC has published statistics in three statuses, including preliminary, adjusted and official statuses.
The estimated statistics are only used for reporting purposes. In case there is a change in the time for statistical information dissemination, the GDVC will notify it soon.
2021 is the ninth year that the GDVC has developed the Customs statistical information dissemination timetable.
Over the past eight years, the GDVC has basically performed the dissemination in line with the timetable.
The disseminationof statistical information under the Customs statistical information dissemination timetable ensures the publicity, transparency and accuracy of the dissemination time and method; the equal rights of organizations and individuals in accessingstatistical information for general information; and quick provision of statistical information to the statistical information users.
