Large garment companies in Vietnam are still looking to recruit more workers as they continue to see stable orders, with some having orders until April 2022, according to Navigos Search.
The recruitment service company said garment makers in northern Vietnam have been less affected by COVID-19 than those in the south, so they have managed to maintain production effectively.
Navigos added that many are receiving orders shifted from other parts of Asia, where the pandemic has yet to be brought under control.
Therefore the orders for major garment makers remain stable, with some having orders until April next year and thus are in need of hiring more workers. Some companies even reported double profits compared to the previous period.
Although the recruitment demand is expected to go up, the increase is not considerable. In addition, most of the new employees are needed to replace those who have quit their jobs as well as to reinforce the team of highly-skilled positions.
Navigos also predicted that many big electronics companies will continue to invest in and expand their production operations in Vietnam through large-scale projects, including research and development.
Bac Ninh, Hai Phong, Bac Giang, Thanh Hoa and Da Nang are expected to continue receiving significant investments from such projects.
Besides the two above sectors, there is also a growing demand for manpower in information technology and digital transformation, especially in application development, technology development, transformation management, data analysis and digital marketing.
